Morgan's Early Life
Morgan Freeman was born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis Tennessee and since he was a little child, he was beginning to become an actor. Freeman made his debut at age nine when he played the lead role in a school play. Because of this, Morgan ended up attending Broad Street High School, a building that serves today as Threadgill Elementary School, in Greenwood, Mississippi. When he turned 12, he won a statewide drama competition, and while still at Broad Street High School, he performed in a radio show based in Nashville, Tennessee. As you can see, he was already becoming an actor when he was a little child.
When Morgan Freeman was young, he wanted to be a fighter pilot. But, his supervisor said that his skills weren’t good, so Freeman turned to acting. And from the 1970s he kept acting in movies, such as Another World, Brubaker, and Street Smart, where his part as a dangerous hustler got him his first ever Academy Award nomination. After that, he received multiple oscar nominations in about 20 years.
